I feel like since joining this group, I have learned so much. Prior to being accepted to this program, I was restricting calories, working out 6 days a week with a lot of cardio and not losing weight., Alyssa was able to teach me on how I needed to eat a lot more. Once I started following her plan, I have lost inches and gained a lot of muscle, which is important in my career for me to be healthy. I cannot thank Alyssa enough for the help she has given me and remained with me throughout the whole process, supporting me.

Working with Alyssa has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself! I’ve always cared about health and taking cafe of myself, even though it may not be obvious in my before pic. I’ve also always been an emotional eater, and I’ve yo yo dieted for many years. I knew if I was ever going to make a lasting change I needed the guidance of someone who was not only knowledgeable but more so, somebody who cares! Alyssa is always there for me whether it’s a macro question or a training question, and I LOVE the twice a week check ins! It gives me the accountability I need!!! If you’re looking for a coach who cares, and especially one who cares about your health and not just your appearance, Alyssa is your girl! Her own discipline and determination bleeds over into her coaching style! I have learned SOOO much from Alyssa in just 6 weeks. I have several years experience working out, tracking calories, some successful dieting, but was overall struggling with consistency and I was missing some key pieces of knowledge. Immediately after joining team Dumbbells N Doughnuts I had the accountability, direction, encouragement, and clear instructions I needed for how to establish my goals and execute a plan to get me there. Alyssa's training program has challenged me physically (even though I was in pretty good shape to start!) and her ability to guide my nutrition plan (by giving me exact macros to follow) through a reverse diet in which I am burning fat while I build muscle - I am now eating almost 2200 calories a day rather than 1300 which I was eating a few months ago. I have an overall gain of a whopping 1 pound...!!! and macros are still going up! Alyssa coaches women with all different types of goals and lifestyles and she manages to give each individual person 1:1 attention that far exceeds expectations. She is very responsive and she does 2 weekly check-ins which really helps with sticking to the plan. One of my favorite parts of being on the team is the community of women who are supportive and inspiring. The Facebook group provides a forum for everyone to share challenges, victories, questions, and stuff just for fun. If you are financially ready to invest in yourself by hiring a coach and are willing to put in the work, I recommend working with Alyssa because she will get you on the right track towards the best version of you.

I’ve followed Alyssa's journey for 2 or so years now. I was inspired by her raw and honest being. When I saw a post that she was starting her own fitness group, I jumped at the chance to be on her team! I was in complete shock when my application was accepted and excited for this new journey, with Team Dumbells N' Donuts!

From the start she kept me accountable which I needed! I am a person who needs to meet someone at the gym or have someone hold me accountable. Our twice weekly check ins were always positive and helpful on achieving my goals. And, of course, the goals Alyssa set for me. Through the ups and downs of mentally getting over the scale she always helped me find the positive. I feel for a coach to do that but to be honest about where we are in the journey, is priceless. I’ve worked with another coach before and did not feel as supported or encouraged as what I feel with working with Alyssa. 

If you are unsure about taking the plunge and joining the team, just DO IT! You will never find a coach like Alyssa, and you won’t regret it.

When I first came to Alyssa for guidance, not only did we make a great personal connection but she impressed me by the knowledge and professionalism she had to offer to achieve my goals. After being on a restricted calorie diet for more than a year and a half, alongside extreme intensive workouts 7days a week, with daily cardio sessions, Alyssa explained that my body was in such a stress mode that it was no longer responsive to my quest. I needed to reverse diet. I needed to fuel my body with a lot more calories, through set macronutrients. She quickly calculated my numbers based on my age, weight and goals. This would allow my body to heal itself and begin a healthy journey to muscle gain, fat loss and a connection with food that had been lost. The name alone “reverse diet” immediately meant to me that I was going to gain a ton of weight and still not attain my goals.

I’ve been struggling with yo-yo, fad, “fast and quick” diets my whole adult life. Binge eating, unhealthy habits, always looking for the easy faster way to get “healthy.” I’ve always struggled with the gym, self imaging, and overall treating my body right. I started following Alyssa‘s fitness journey on Instagram by accident, to be honest. I’ve watched her grow mentally and physically as a person and it truly inspired me almost daily. She would post her before and after pictures and honestly always thought to myself that if I cut carbs, eat the bare minimum, do cardio all day everyday that someday I could “get fit.” Then one day I saw that Alyssa was taking applications. It took me about a week of going over all the pros and I really couldn’t find any cons. I took the leap and jumped in with the team. I have had so many non-scale victories already and have learned to feed my body right (more than I’ve allowed myself to eat...EVER) as well as a healthy gym routine. I’ve lost tons of inches but also gained strength and muscle. I would have never been able to do any of this without Alyssa and her coaching, I really can’t thank her enough. She has taught me SO much already and I truly am so excited to see where this team helps me go.

I have been working with Alyssa for four months now and I am down almost 20 pounds and many inches! Alyssa is helping me to prep for a bikini competition in October and again in 2021 . I have never found a trainer that genuinely cares so much and is always available to answer any questions and provide honest feedback. The two check-in’s a week are what holds me true to my goals, keeps me motivated, and keeps me accountable. I have never felt so confident or trusted a trainer the way I do Alyssa. She is very knowledgeable and such a genuine person. I love that Alyssa is very flexible and doesn’t push certain foods or supplements on you. She really does give you the tools to be successful!

In just a few weeks Alyssa has transformed the way I think about food. When I came to Alyssa I avoided carbs, barely ate during the week, and then binged on junk food on the weekend. Now, I'm eating the right amount of healthy foods while still seeing the scale go down thanks to Alyssa's guidance and support. She provides hands-on coaching and is a resource whenever I need her. My one goal when starting with Alyssa, was to run a full marathon. From this goal, I assumed I was going to lose weight, ultimately making my number on the scale smaller, which to me, made me think this also entailed eating less. In the beginning, I did feel discouraged, because I’m slightly…obsessive about numbers, so when I saw my macros increasing, my runs being longer, and the scale not moving, I saw this as not reaching my goals. Let me tell you, THIS IS NOT TRUE! After my first month with Alyssa, I lost 9 inches and I was running more miles, lifting more, and eating more. What a dream come true, I never would have thought I could eat as many carbs as I do, as much as I do, while still working towards my goals. If you’ve been debating her as a coach, THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO JUST DO IT! I have never felt so free, with my food choices, or from the numbers on the scale. I have struggled for years, placed myself on multiple diets, exercise plans, and nothing has stuck, until now. I am so proud to admit Alyssa is my coach, and I’m so trusting in her, even when she ups my macros. I am not one to ask for help, but I can honestly say, it was the best decision I have ever made!
